Morcheeba Information
Morcheeba is an English electronic band. The current lineup of the group consists of Ross Godfrey and Skye Edwards. Paul Godfrey (DJ/producer) and his brother Ross Godfrey (multi-instrumentalist) are London natives; they grew up in the little town of Saltwood, Kent, north of Hythe. At a Greenwich party in the mid-1990s, the brothers met Skye Edwards, a backup singer and guitarist for a funk band. They quickly began producing music as a trio under the name Morcheeba.
Since 1995, they've released eleven full-length studio albums, including two that charted in the top ten in the United Kingdom. Edwards left the band in 2003, and the brothers went through several singers before returning her in 2009. They frequently bring on new members for their live shows and foreign tours.
Paul Godfrey left the group in 2014. Later, in September 2016, Edwards and Ross Godfrey published an album named Skye & Ross. The tracks "Sounds of Blue," "Oh Oh Yeah," and "The Moon" all served as previews for their most recent studio album, Morcheeba, Blackest Blue, which was released in May of 2021. Edwards called Duke Garwood "a diamond geezer" and collaborated with him and Brad Barr of The Barr Brothers for the album.
