Michael Salgado Information
Michael Salgado (1971) is a Norteno/Tejano music singer and accordionist. He was born in Stanton, Texas, while his family roots are in Barrancos, Chihuahua, Mexico. Salgado received prominent attention in the mid-1990s when he looked back at the ‘Norteno’ sound that was influenced by Ramon Ayala. He subsequently introduced the style, which became very popular. His backing musicians were his Uncle Jamie and brother Ernie. They played drums and guitar, respectively.
The bass player for Michael Salgado’s backing musicians’ team was Joe Tanguma, at the age of 19. He also started to climb the Latin American music charts in 1995 when Salgado released his single entitled “Wooden Cross.” He released an album in 1996 entitled “En Concierto,” which introduced his most successful single entitled “Sin Ella,” reaching the top 20 Latin American music charts. In 1997, Salgado released another hit album named “Mi Primer Amor.”
Salgado has released several notable albums throughout his career, including Special Wine, Back Back, The Golden Lefty, Between Cups, Your Music… Without Borders, King’s Blood, Best Times, Again A La Cantina, Pure Town, Tribute To Cornelio Reyna, From Good Roots, In Concert, and Wooden Cross.
