Matthew Good Information
Matthew Good (June 29, 1971) is a Canadian musician. He was born in Burnaby, British Columbia. Good first entered the music industry when a folk band requested him to contribute lyrics as a high school student. Then Good joined them in song. At age 20, Good began teaching himself guitar and continued to write music. Good started making folk demos and singing lead for the folk band The Rochester Kings.
In 2003, Good unveiled his first solo effort, titled Avalanche. The CD was a marked departure from their previous work with the band. The first two singles, "Weapon" and "In a World Called Catastrophe, " featured the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Good collaborated with MGB producer Warne Livesey, who was nominated for a Juno, to create the album. The "Weapon" music video, directed by Good and Ante Kovac, received the 2003 Juno Award for Video of the Year.
In March 2018, Good toured across Canada as a co-headliner with Our Lady Peace. Good fainted onstage on March 27 due to illness and was sent to the hospital during a performance in Edmonton. The following show on Good's tour was postponed, but Good returned triumphantly on March 30. Good's first solo acoustic tour since 2007 started in 2019.
