Mariachi Divas is an American band founded by trumpet player and music director Cindy Shea in 1999. The group was known for its electric and innovative music that ranged from mariachi classics to pop and jazz. The band’s music can be categorized as refined, smooth, and sophisticated. Mariachi Divas is also the official all-female mariachi of the Disneyland Resort since 2003.
Mariachi Divas has been featured in Disney Pixar’s Coco: A Live-to-Film Concert Experience at the Hollywood Bowl and often appears in various music video projects, television, and films. The band received its 11th Grammy nomination in 2019.
Cindy Shea built a new recording studio named 7th Ave. Studios. 20 Aniversario was the first album to be recorded there. It is one of the monumental achievements for both Mariachi Divas and Shea.
