Magnolia Boulevard is an American band from Lexington, Kentucky. The current lineup of the group consists of John Roberts (bass), Maggie Noelle (vocals and acoustic guitar), Gregg Erwin (guitar), Todd Copeland (drums), and Ryan Allen (keys). Magnolia Boulevard has a variety of musical backgrounds. They have also come together on a common sound, such as balancing the vocals between rock n' roll, funk, and blues.
A sound that flows smoothly and effortlessly from various stylistic streams is key to the Magnolia Boulevard experience. There are elements of funk, jam band, folk, country, bluegrass, and psychedelia in the mix and blues, soul, and rock 'n' roll. The rhythm section's elastic grooves are powered by Erwin's expressive and incisive slide guitar riffs, and Noelle's soul-stirring, powerhouse vocals top it all off.
Magnolia Boulevard's debut EP, New Illusion, is a four-track offering that will be released independently on August 7th, 2020. Magnolia Boulevard's sound is exemplified by New Illusion, which is incredibly fluid and varied but never forced or strange. It was produced by Paul Reed Smith, acclaimed guitar maker and proprietor of PRS Guitars, who Erwin characterizes as the band's "advocate." Tracks on the EP are "Who Loves Ya," "Lovin' Me," "Smooth Sailin," "Ride," and "Sister."
