Madness Information
Madness is an English pop and ska band. The current lineup consists of Chris Foreman, Mike Barson, Lee Thompson, Graham "Suggs" McPherson, Dan Woodgate, and Mark Bedford. The band started playing regularly at the Dublin Castle in Camden Town in 1979, which brought them a growing number of live fans in London. It was Lee Thompson's "The Prince" that the band recorded for commercial release. Prince Buster was the band's idol, and the song was a tribute to him.
Jerry Dammers, keyboardist and founder of the band the Specials, released the single via his label 2 Tone Records. The band's twelfth studio album, Theatre of the Absurd Presents C'est la Vie, was announced in September 2023 and released on November 17, 2023. After that, the Lightning Seeds will tour the United Kingdom, playing venues such as Liverpool, Manchester, London, and more. It would be the first studio album by Madness to reach number one in the UK.
Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands all had album charts that featured the album. The extended music video for "C'est La Vie" was unveiled on December 11. Comes after "Baby Burglar" on January 23, 2024. The official new single, "Round We Go," was confirmed for release in February. The complete video debuted on February 6; then, on February 16, a single edit was published. The melody was included in BBC Radio 2's New Music Playlist on February 23.
