The Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Tour was a past tour that was meant to pay tribute to the original band members who unfortunately died in 1977, during a plane crash. The tour initiated on September 23, 1987, and ended on September 25, 1988. It was held in honor of the 10th anniversary of the plane crash incident. Several surviving members reunited for the Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute tour. The original members of the tribute band were Gary Rossington, Billy Powell, Leon Wilkeson, Ed King, Artimus Pyle, Randall Hall, and Johnny Van Zant. There were 84 shows performed by the band in total.
