Luis Enrique Information
Luis Enrique (September 28, 1962) is a Nicaraguan singer and songwriter. Located in Whittier, California, La Serna High School was where he graduated. Success came to him in the 1990s, but his career didn't begin until the late '80s. In the 1980s, he was a forerunner of the salsa romántica scene. In addition to his nomination for "Best Tropical Latin Performance" for "Amiga," Enrique's album Luces del Alma also garnered a nod.
Sensation 85, which also featured La Palabra and Nestor Torres, was a salsa romántica combo with which he played and recorded. His breakthrough after more than a decade came on May 19, 2009, when his album Ciclos was nominated for multiple Latin Grammy Awards. The album featured the top 40 songs "Yo No Sé Maana," and it went on to win the Grammy for Best Tropical Latin Album. Luis Enrique hosted the first season of Objetivo Fama. In 2010, he took home the awards for Best Tropical Latin Album and two Latin Grammys.
Winner of the "Best Tropical Song" Latin Grammy and nominated for Song of the Year, "Yo No Sé Maana" has been recognized for its excellence. This tune was up for Tropical Song of the Year at the 2010 Lo Nuestro Awards. They named it "Tropical Airplay - Song of the Year" on Billboard's Latin Music chart for this year.
