The agency is commonly referred to as just AAA, which is an abbreviation of its original name Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion. Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide was founded in 1992 by Antonio Pena after breaking ranks with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) to start his promotion.
