Love Rocks NYC Information
Starting in 2017, New York City has played host to Love Rocks NYC, an annual concert with proceeds going to the charity God's Love We Deliver. John Varvatos, a renowned menswear designer, along with Nicole Rechter and Greg Williamson, created the annual concert that has become a staple at New York City's Beacon Theatre. Williamson is on the board of directors at God's Love We Deliver, and in 2017 he, Varvatos, and Rechter discussed the possibility of hosting an annual concert to benefit the organization.
For individuals who are too ill to shop for or prepare food for themselves, the charity that this concert benefits delivers meals. Each year at the concert, a new lineup of musicians and hosts take the stage. Every year, the house band—featuring Will Lee on vocals and guitar, Paul Shaffer on drums, Eric Krasno on bass, Larry Campbell on guitar, Steve Gadd on keyboards, and Shawn Pelton on bass—performs. On March 9, 2017, the first-ever performance debuted before a sold-out crowd at the Beacon Theatre. In June 2020, the event will have raised $9 million and provided 1,000,000 meals.
