Lisa Leblanc Information
Lisa LeBlanc (August 13, 1990) is a Canadian banjoist, singer, and songwriter. She was born in Rosaireville, New Brunswick. Around the age of 14, LeBlanc began composing her first works. She performed at open mic nights and the O'Donaghues bar in Miramichi while her mother watched her.
In September 2010, LeBlanc won the Festival international de la chanson de Granby, recognizing her as an outstanding guitarist and a budding singer-songwriter. Having won this judged honor, she was featured in the country's francophone media. Additionally, she has performed at the 2011 Coup de coeur francophone, the Montreal FrancoFolies, and the Festival d'été de Québec.
The songs on LeBlanc's debut album were penned in many locations, including her hometown of Rosaireville, Granby (where she attended l'École nationale de la chanson), and her current home of Montreal. The CD was recorded by Louis-Jean Cormier of Karkwa at Studio Piccolo and was released in March on Bonsound Records.
In 2012, LeBlanc released an album under her name. Music Canada has awarded it their highest possible platinum status. The smash tune "Aujourd'hui ma vie c'est d'la marde" helped make the album a success ("Today My Life Is Shit"). LeBlanc's 2014 English EP, Highways, Heartaches, and Time Well Wasted, debuted at #7 on the Canadian Albums Chart and sold 3,400 copies in its first week.
