Lauren Ruth Ward (November 4, 1988) is a singer from Baltimore, MD. Soon after high school, Ward started working as a colorist/barber in her hometown. She used to play the guitar as a hobby. Ward also sang in a few talent shows in high school. She never touched the guitar until her 18th birthday, and at the age of 21, Ward began to write songs as a profession.
Ruth Ward made a YouTube channel for herself, and that’s where her first manager found her. The manager convinced her to shift to LA to pursue a career in music full-time. Ward moved to LA in 2015 and started to work as a barber and follow her dream career. In 2016, she released her self-titled EP. Her first-ever album was ‘Well, Hell’ that came out the same year. In 2017, she quit her hair cutting job and started working full-time as a musician. Ward held three successful shows in support of her first-ever album.
In January 2018, Ward held her first residency at the Echo. Because of the incredible demand by her fans, the last two shows by Ward were pushed to a bigger venue popular as Echoplex. Ward held a sold-out show on March 29 at the Trubadour. The show was set to celebrate the worldwide release of her successful album.
Ward also auditioned for The Voice in 2012 in New York. Fortunately, she was one of 147 finalists who flew to LA but was cut in the first round.
