Kudzu Kings Information
Kudzu Kings is a jam band from Oxford, Mississippi, that plays alternative country and roots rock. People have described their music as a cross between country, bluegrass, and improvised rock and roll. Despite some personnel changes, the band remained together and on the road for nearly a decade (1994–2003). The band's particular chemistry has been diluted by constantly playing for festivals, charities, weird astrological events, and enormous money in the modern era.
The band enjoyed considerable popularity in the South, Colorado, and Texas throughout their time together, and they used this momentum to launch multiple tours across the United States and Canada. Kudzu's longstanding guitarist George McConnell left the band and joined Widespread Panic in 2002. However, they've also played alongside Bob Weir, Rob Wasserman, Leftover Salmon, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Junior Brown, among many others. Chris Ethridge, Bucky Baxter, John "Jojo" Hermann (of Widespread Panic), Cody Dickinson (of North Mississippi All-Stars), and Tony Furtado are some of the guest musicians that collaborated with Kudzu Kings throughout the years.
