Kevin Michael Griffin (October 1, 1968) is an American singer, record producer, and songwriter. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Numerous musicians have covered his songs, including Missy Higgins, Matt Nathanson, Meat Loaf, Chase Rice, The Struts, Andrew McMahon, Blondie, Boys Like Girls, Tom Morello, Barenaked Ladies, Howie Day, Trombone Shorty, Christina Perri, Andy Grammer, Saint Motel, Moon Taxi, and many more.
Griffin has a diverse professional background that includes music publishing, artist management, and giving talks on creativity to groups worldwide. His clients include Live Nation, Which Wich?, Novation, and YPO-WPO, to name a few. His debut novel will hit shelves in the late autumn of 2022. He is involved in the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival, held annually in Franklin, Tennessee, and was one of the festival's founders.
Since its inception in 1988, Griffin's alternative rock band Better Than Ezra has been consistently praised for their innovative sound. Their successes "Good," "In the Blood," and "Desperately Wanting" all went platinum in the '90s. They extended that popularity into the '00s with "Extra Ordinary," "A Lifetime," and "Juicy." On October 4, 2019, he released Anywhere You Go, his debut solo album. Griffin has also collaborated with Mark McGrath (of Sugar Ray) and Emerson Hart (of Tonic) to form the band, Ezra Ray Hart.
