Kari Jobe Information
Kari Brooke Jobe is a contemporary Christian singer and songwriter. She was born in Waco, Texas, and raised in Watauga, and Hurst, Texas. She began to sing at the age of three, and at five, became a Christian. Jobe went to the Oral Roberts University, Dallas Baptist University, and Christ for the Nations Institute to obtain her psychology and pastoral studies degree. In 2009, she released “Holy Spirit” and “Revelation Song,” which brought her initial prominence.
On February 10, 2009, Jobe released her self-titled debut album that charted number 67 on the Billboard 200 and number 3 on Billboard’s Christian music chart. She also released a Spanish version of the album under the name Le Canto. Before releasing her debut album, Jobe had already released a compilation album, “Kari Jobe,” a Christmas album, “Bethlehem,” and a live concert album, “Throneroom Worship: Live Acoustic Worship.”
“I’m Singing” was the song from her debut album that reached number 13 on Billboard’s Christian singles chart. Her second single was released in 2009 entitled “Healer.” This single also reached number 33 on Billboard’s Soft A/C chart.
Jobe signed a record deal with EMI CMG Sparrow Records in 2011. Her other notable studio albums include Where I Find You (January 24, 2012) and The Garden (February 3, 2017). Jobe has won the GMA Dove Awards for “Spanish Language Album of the Year” (2010) and “Special Events Album of the Year” (2010).
