Julia Fordham (August 1962) is a British singer-songwriter from Portsmouth, England. Her music is classified as pop and jazz. She began her career in the early 1980s as a backing singer for Kim Wilde and Mari Wilson. Fordham released her first self-titled album in 1988 via Circa Records. The album reached number 20 in the UK Albums chart and earned a platinum disc.
Porcelain was the second album by Fordham released in 1989, which charted even higher than her debut album. The second album was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry. Her other notable albums include 1991: Swept, 1994: Falling Forward, 1997: East-West, 1998: The Julia Fordham Collection, 2002: Concrete Love, 2004: That’s Life, 2005: That’s Life, 2008: China Blue, 2010: Unusual Suspects (with Paul Reiser), 2016: Mixed, and Shaken & Stirred, 2019: Magic.
