Juan Wauters is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Montevideo, Uruguay. He uprooted his family and moved to the Big Apple in 2002. When Juan Wauters was 17, he moved to Jackson Heights, New York, with his family. Years later, he created an indie rock band, The Beets, with bassist Jose Garcia and drummer Jacob Warstler. The group's albums were released on the labels Hardly Art and Captured Tracks. In 2014, Juan Wauters released NAP: North American Poetry, his first self-titled solo album.
Wauters's sophomore album, Who Me? was released the following year. On Pitchfork, the album was given a score of 6.0. The lyrics for the songs in Who Me? are sung in Spanish and English. Wauters has performed alongside well-known musicians like Jeff Tweedy, Mac DeMarco, and Foxygen. Real Life Situations (2021), Introducing Juan Pablo (2019), La Onda de Juan Pablo (2019), Who Me? (2015) and NAP: North American Poetry (2014) are only a few of his albums.
