Joan Jett (September 22, 1958) is an American rock singer, guitarist, songwriter, record producer, and actor. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, with which she played lead vocals, and the Runaways, with whom she co-founded and performed for the release of the smash single "Cherry Bomb," are her most notable compositions and accomplishments. "I Love Rock 'n Roll" by Jett and the Blackhearts topped the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1982.
On May 14, 2021, it was announced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Bad Reputation and I Love Rock & Roll, Jett's debut two albums. Changeup, Joan Jett, and the Blackhearts recorded "Bad Reputation" and "Crimson and Clover" for their debut acoustic album on March 25, 2022.
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts released Mindsets, an EP of six songs, on June 2, 2023. This extended play is the band's first new music in a decade. A record-breaking 27,000 people packed into the Nassau County Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in the summer of 2022 to hear Jett perform in a post-pandemic welcome-back event honoring first responders, presented by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
