Jerry Rivera Information
Jerry Rivera (July 31, 1973) is a Puerto Rican salsa musician and composer. He was born in Humacao's eastern Puerto Rican municipality. After his family relocated to Toa Baja, he attended elementary and high school in Levittown. He comes from a long line of musicians; his younger sister Saned and brother Edwin Rivera are both tropical recording artists.
Tommy Olivencia suggested that Rivera pursue a solo singing career after hearing him perform with his father in 1988. The music department at CBS heard a demo that Rivera's father had created when he was sixteen. "Riva" was signed by them.
As a result of his debut album, Empezando A Vivir, Rivera gained the moniker "El Bebé de la Salsa" (the baby of salsa). "From Head to Toe" (De La Cabeza A Los Pies) was a smash song from this production.
Cara de Niño ('Baby Face') was released in 1993 by him with ¿Qué Hay De Malo? 'What's Wrong About This?', 'Cara de Niño,' and 'No Hieras Mi Vida' were all huge successes that year. With his reputation on the rise, he published his debut compilation album in 1994, Lo Nuevo y lo Mejor, which featured the smash hit "Me Estoy Enloqueciendo Por Ti" ('I'm Going Crazy For You').
A Latin American soap opera, Mi Destino eres tu ('You are my destiny'), aired on Univision in the US in November 2005, and Rivera had a brief role in the movie, I Like It Like That. Overseas, Rivera has played many concerts for his fans. He served as a judge on Idol Puerto Rico in 2011. It is an American Idol for Puerto Ricans.
