Jacob Collier Information

Jacob Collier (August 2, 1994) is an English musician, writer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and teacher born in London. Collier's work mixes jazz with many other genres and uses reharmonizations and tight harmony.

He frequently gets the audience to join in on harmony or drums during his high-energy live shows. In lectures and master workshops, Collier shows off his harmonic knowledge by analyzing songs in depth, like Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke" and his compositions, presenting his unique Super-Ultra-Hyper-Mega-Meta-Lydian scale.

Collier's first album, "In My Room," was published in 2016. He recorded it in the spare bedroom of his family's house in Finchley, North London. There, he played, organized, and produced the album. Collier's "Flintstones" and "You and I" arrangements won two Grammys in 2017.

Both "All Night Long (All Night)" and "Moon River" from Djesse Volume 2 were arranged by Collier, who earned Grammys in 2020 for his work. The song "He Won't Hold You" from his third album, Djesse Vol. 3, earned him a Grammy in 2021.

Released on July 14, 2023, 'WELLLL' is a guitar-driven track co-written by Collier and Remi Wolf, showcasing the sound of Collier's bespoke 5-string Strandberg electric guitar. Following the success of his Grammy-nominated hit "Never Gonna Be Alone" in 2022, he has partnered with the worldwide footwear brand Crocs and has published the accompanying single.
