Il Divo is a traditional crossover singing group formed in the United Kingdom in December 2003 with members from many countries. Il Divo gained fame in 2004 when their first album, called Il Divo, went straight to number one in several countries. The group brought something new to music by mixing opera with pop. Their sound is powerful, emotional, and smooth, with songs sung in many languages, including English, Spanish, and Italian. The original group was made up of four singers from different countries: Urs Bühler from Switzerland, Carlos Marín from Spain, David Miller from the United States, and Sébastien Izambard from France. People all over the world were drawn to their voices and their elegant style.
In the years that followed, the group released numerous additional albums and toured extensively across the globe. They became known for songs like Regresa a Mí, The Time of Our Lives, and Mama. They performed in beautiful theaters and on big stages, always dressed in sharp suits and backed by full orchestras. Il Divo worked with other stars like Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion and brought classical crossover music into the spotlight. In 2021, the group suffered a great loss with the passing of Carlos Marín, but they chose to continue moving forward and honor his memory through music.
In 2025, Il Divo is back on tour with new shows across Europe and North America. They are performing songs from their latest album, XX, which came out in 2024 to mark their 20th anniversary. In April and May, they played shows in London, Paris, and New York, sharing both classic hits and new tracks. The tour continues this summer with more dates in cities around the world. Fans are showing up to celebrate two decades of music and the lasting magic of Il Divo.
