Houndmouth Information
Houndmouth was founded in New Albany, Indiana, in 2011. Currently, the group includes Matt Myers (guitar, vocals), Zak Appleby (bass, vocals), and Shane Cody (drums, vocals). With each gifted member managing several tasks, the band progressed from its summer 2011 formation to performing at the SXSW music festival in March 2012. Given their approach that evokes nostalgia, their debut self-titled EP was written from inside the old New Albany "The Green House."
The popularity of the record and related tour resulted in their signing by the esteemed indie label Rough Trade Records. This supported the 2013 release of their first full-length album, From the Hills Below the City. Along with other festivals, it would result in appearances on The David Letterman Show and Conan.
Houndmouth debuted their fourth album, the Pandemic penned Good For You, on November 5, 2021. Written and recorded at The Green home in New Albany, Indiana, an 18th-century shotgun owned by the family of drummer Shane Cody, it is accompanied by many movies made at the house and published around the album's release.
