Greg Dulli Information
Greg Dulli (May 11, 1965) is an American musician from Hamilton, Ohio. He was raised a Roman Catholic, but now he is agnostic. His music is defined as a rock type. Dulli initiated his career in the late 1980s. He caught the attention when he joined The Afghan Whigs. He is also a member of The Twilight Singers. Dulli’s career grew massively as The Afghan Whigs began playing more gigs. This drew bigger and bigger crowds to their concerts, which brought them the attention of Sub Pop Records in Seattle.
In 1994, Dulli was working as a lead vocalist in the Backbeat Band, which was an alternative-rock supergroup. He was the only musician that appeared on the Foo Fighters’ first record apart from Dave Grohl. Dulli bought the movie rights to a book by Ann Imbrie called Spoken in Darkness with Ted Demme and director Mark Pellington) in 1997, but the film failed to happen.
Dulli produced Ballads for Little Hyenas by the Italian rock band, Afterhours in 2006. He also provided the vocals for the song "Somebody Needs You" off of The Lo-Fidelity Allstars 2002 album entitled Don't Be Afraid of Love. He also played two acoustic shows at The Triple Door in Seattle, along with Jeff Klein, Shawn Smith, Petra Haden, and Barb Antonio, in October 2007.
Dulli was invited to many tribute albums, such as a tribute album to the late Doug Sahm. A few of his notable solo discographies include 2005 Amber Headlights LP, 2008 Live at Triple Door LP, 2010 Live in New Orleans LP, and 2020 Random Desire LP.
