Greet Death is an American rock band. The current lineup consists of Jimmy Versluis (drums), Jackie Kalmink (bass), Logan Gaval (vocals and guitar), and Samuel Boyhtari (guitar and vocals). In 2017, Greet Death released their debut studio album, named Dixieland. New Hell, the powerful follow-up to 2017's Greet Death, continues the band's successful fusion of massively distorted shoegaze textures with downcast slowcore and post-rock.
After forming in 2016, the band swiftly signed with Chicago's Flesh and Bone Records, releasing their debut 7" in May 2017 with the tracks "In Heaven" and "Your Lull." The sophisticated post-rock tones and sludgy low-end of their music evoked the nostalgic grandeur of '90s slowcore. In late 2019, heavy music specialists Deathwish released Greet Death's critically acclaimed follow-up, New Hell after the band gained national attention with the publication of their full-length debut, Dixieland, named for a flea market in their birthplace.
