God Save the Queen is an Argentine tribute band founded in 1998. The members are Ezequiel Tibaldo on bass, Francisco Calgaro on guitar, Matias Albornoz on drums, and Pablo Padin on vocals. The band gets its name from the national song of the UK, performed on tape after every Queen concert when the band bowed.
Formed in 1998 in Rosario, Argentina, God Save the Queen is the first four-piece Queen memorial project. The band's stage presentation, with costumes and theatrical presence, evokes Queen's throughout the 1980s. The band has been praised for their exact copy of Queen in sound and style. God Save the Queen has performed in some large stadiums and arenas during the past five years, including Montreux, Switzerland, and Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires.
2005, they brought their show to Germany, India, and the UK. On the 25th anniversary of Queen's debut show in Argentina in 2006, they used the exact setlist, attire, and stage antics Queen employed in 1981 when band members watched Queen live at the same location.
