Guitarist, vocalist, and composer Gabito Ballesteros hails from Mexico. With an expressive and reedy tenor voice, he blends traditions (especially norteno and mariachi) with contemporary melodies and production values. Initially noticed by the media and industry, he had a duet with Aldo Trujillo on "El Rompecabezas" in 2020. As a result of his prolific solo work ("El Chaman," "El Sereno") and collaborative efforts, he became a household name.
Natanael Cano and Peso Pluma's "AMG" from 2022 topped the Hot Latin Songs chart after debuting on the Hot 100. The Ballesteros family includes Gabriel Guzman and Monica Abril Medina, who are the parents of Ballesteros. At the age of eight, he was taught guitar by his mother. Ballesteros joined a children's mariachi band his parish priest organized when he was nine.
For three years, he was one of four guitarists in the band. Carlos Hoyos had prepared a vocal audition piece for him at the time, "El Rey" by Jose Alfredo Jimenez. After joining the band, he took the lead vocals. Even though the band became famous in their hometown, Ballesteros quickly began performing alone and with the group at events such as weddings, quinceañeras, political rallies, and street fairs.
