Frank McComb Information
Frank McComb (July 15, 1970) is a record producer and soul singer. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio. In February 1983, McComb started his career when an aunt trained him on the piano at the family church. Even though he did enroll in a performing arts school in the middle of the 1980s, he gained greater notoriety by performing alongside seasoned musicians in Cleveland nightclubs. McComb was leading his trio while still in high school in 1988.
After graduating from Cleveland's Glenville High School, McComb was requested to join the band for Gerald Levert's protégés, the male R&B singing group The Rude Boys. He eventually attained the position of musical director and toured with them through the beginning of the 1990s. McComb met DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's Jeff Townes while touring and was subsequently invited to record and perform with the group.
McComb was eventually persuaded to relocate to Philadelphia by Townes. After settling in, he met the renowned songwriting team of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. To be able to walk to work every day, McComb eventually moved closer to Gamble/headquarters Huff's and was hired on as a musician. McComb's first record deal was made possible by a meeting while working for Gamble & Huff with Steve McKeever, who would later become president of Motown Records.
