Flipturn is an indie rock group based in Fernandina Beach, Florida, founded in 2015. They became known through their 2017 EP "Citrona" and their first album "Shadowglow" in 2022. Their songs combine contagious guitar riffs, ethereal sounds, and emotional lyrics, which soon brought them to the fore among other musicians. The sound of the band is often described as a combination of alternative rock and indie pop, with a relaxed but dynamic attitude that makes it popular among a broad audience.
Through the years, Flipturn has published several singles and albums, which have made them popular. Their popular hits are “The Band," “Class of 2019,” and “Souvenir”. They have also appeared at large festivals such as Hangout Fest and have also opened up tours to bands such as COIN and The Band Camino. In 2025, Flipturn released their second album, Burnout Days, on January 24. The album features songs such as "Rodeo Clown," "Juno," and "Sunlight," which explore the themes of burnout and self-improvement. To market the album, the band went on tour around the country, making a stop at such prominent locations as The NorVa in Norfolk, VA, State Theatre in Portland, ME, and at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ. They also played the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island. The fans can look forward to listening to new songs from their new album, which indicates that they are still developing as a band.
