Flatfoot 56 Information
Flatfoot 56 is an American Celtic punk band. The group's current lineup consists of Josh Robieson, Jon Nowicki, Keith Perez, Kyle Bawinkel, and Tobin Bawinkel. In the summer of 2000, three friends joined to create a punk band. Tobin Bawinkel, Justin Bawinkel, and Kyle Bawinkel, all brothers, formed the original band in the autumn of 2000 and began penning songs around the same time. They had already performed their first performance by that year's holiday season. By adding Josh Robieson (bagpipes, guitar, mandolin) in January 2001, the ensemble could incorporate the sound of the Highland bagpipes and a second guitar into its repertoire.
First releasing a demo in 2001, the band made their debut studio album, Rumble of 56, in the summer of 2002. The Noise Chamber, located in Rockford, Illinois, was the location of this recording. Waves of War, the band's second studio album, was published that year. Their single "That's OK" received extensive airplay on Midwesterners' favorite radio channels. It's a live show fan favorite and consistently ranked among the best tracks Flatfoot 56 has ever performed.
Flatfoot 56 played to a crowd of roughly 700 individuals at the 2004 Cornerstone Festival in Illinois. Knuckles Up, the band's third studio record, was unveiled at this show. With their best-selling album to date, the ensemble is still active in the studio and on the road. The band has a new record company home, Flicker Records, and their album Knuckles Up has been reissued there.
