The Fabulous Armadillos is an American 8-piece band founded in 2006. The group has been established in central Minnesota since its inception. Its music is defined as country, heavy metal, 70's soft rock, and rock. The idea of the Fabulous Armadillos began among a diverse group of musicians. The group was to perform "themed" concerts at the Pioneer Place On Fifth Theater in St. Cloud based on Woodstock, Motown, and one-hit wonders.
The Fabulous Armadillos continue to perform at various new venues scattered across the Midwest and Mexico. Each show performed by the band provides them with a massive increase in fans. The Fabulous Armadillos have brought on hundreds of special guests during their performances, comprising of national and local talent.
The central idea of the Fabulous Armadillos features musicians that have a deep and exciting history with some great regional and national bands such as Paul "Stretch" Diethelm on guitar (Slip Twister, Greystone Rockers, Jonny Lang), Greg "Gary D." Armstrong on keys (Bobby Vee and The Vees), Billy Scherer on vocals (Johnny Holm Band), Mike Zeleny on bass (Airtight, Slip Twister), Pamela McNeill on vocals (Rumours and Dreams, Lamont Cranston), and Jay O'Donnell on drums (Greystone Rockers).
