Eric Hutchinson (September 8, 1980) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Takoma Park, Maryland. His music style is defined as rock, pop, power pop, and blues-rock. Hutchinson graduated from Montgomery Blair High School and later attended the Emerson College in Boston. He is popular for wearing sharp, often colorful suits on stage and his album covers.
Sounds Like This was the independent record by Hutchinson that was released in 2007. The album made it to the top 10 on the iTunes Store and debuted on number one on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Hutchinson released a single named "Rock & Roll" in 2008 that made him earn his first gold record in the U.S. The single was followed by his other notable albums including Moving Up, Living Down, on April 17, 2012, Pure Fiction on April 8, 2014, Almost Solo in NYC (Live) on October 7, 2014, Easy Street, and Modern Happiness, Before & After Life.
Hutchinson is also the creator of "Songversations," which is a music listening card game released by Abrams Books in 2017. A few of the hit singles by him are "Breakdown More," "Outside Villanova," "Don't Hold Back," "You Don't Have to Believe Me," "It Hasn't Been Long Enough," "Watching You Watch Him," "Living in the Afterlife," "Lisa" [Bonus Track], and "I Got the Feelin Now."
Hutchinson embarked on his "Almost Solo" tour in the winter of 2015 and joined Rachel Platten on her "Wildfire Tour" in 2016.
