Elephant Stone Information
Elephant Stone is an indie rock band from Canada. The group's current lineup consists of Jason Kent, Robbie MacArthur, Miles Dupire, and Rishi Dhir. After parting ways with The High Dials in 2009, Dhir formed Elephant Stone. The group started fusing elements of Indian classical music and instrumentation with 1960s rock and pop.
The Seven Seas, the band's debut album, was released on Dhir's Elephants on Parade label on June 2, 2009, and distributed by Fontana North. On June 15, 2009, the album was included in the 2009 Polaris Music Prize longlist. The Seven Seas was released in the United Kingdom by Indiecater Records on July 4, 2009. Their second album, named, was published through Reverbnation Appreciation Society on February 12, 2013. The band's third studio album, The Three Poisons, was released that year. A remix of The Three Poisons, titled ES3PRMX, was released on a cassette by Burger Records in 2015.
There are songs on the tape that feature Anton Newcombe of the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Al Lover, Alex Maas of the Black Angels, Fabien Leseure, Tom Furse of the Horrors, Peter Holmstrom of the Dandy Warhols, and JM Lapham of the Earlies. Ship of Fools, Elephant Stone's fourth studio album, was released in 2016. Live at the Verge was their 2017 EP release, followed by a European tour. On February 14, 2020, Elephant Stone released Hollow, their fifth studio album.
