East Forest Information
East Forest is an American artist from Portland, Oregon, who makes ambient, electronic, modern classical, and indie pop music. Trevor Oswalt, whose surname is Ostwald in German (meaning "East" and "Forest" respectively), came up with the moniker "East Forest" for his project. Eight studio albums and six extended plays have been released by Forest thus far.
He has performed throughout Europe and North America in his extended touring career. Lightning in a Bottle, Arise, Mysteryland, SXSW, and CMJ were among his other festival appearances.
According to Altoriot.com, a website covering pop culture, music, and entertainment, East Forest was the "sleeper-hit and best-hidden gem" of the 2014 SXSW festival. His innovative use of instruments to evoke strong feelings in music is unparalleled.
Music to Die To and Music to Be Born To were two extended plays (EPs) released by East Forest on February 26, 2016. To call Trevor Oswalt, better known as East Forest, inventive would be an understatement, according to Tarynn Law of The 405.... Using a variety of field recordings, he hopes to convey the outdoors via his music.
Following up on Music For Mushrooms: A Soundtrack For The Psychedelic Practitioner, East Forest published IN: A Soundtrack for the Psychedelic Practitioner Vol. II, a two-hour ambient effort, in October 2021.
