Dispatch Information
Chad Urmston, Pete Francis Heimbold, and Brad Corrigan formed Dispatch in 1996 while they were students at Middlebury College in Vermont. Originally called One Fell Swoop, they changed their name and started mixing indie rock with folk and reggae influences to create something fresh. Their grassroots approach and word-of-mouth following helped them sell over 700,000 albums without any major label support.
The band built a huge fan base through relentless touring and their famous outdoor concerts, including massive shows at the Hatch Shell in Boston that drew tens of thousands of fans. They called it quits in 2002 but couldn't stay away for long, reuniting for special shows and eventually reuniting permanently in 2011. Francis left the band in 2019, but Urmston and Corrigan kept the music going as a duo.
Their 2025 summer tour, launched in June, includes major stops across the country with special guest John Butler. The tour stopped at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia, on July 5th and continues through venues like the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park on July 4th. With 41 shows planned through November, this marks one of their most extensive touring years in recent memory.
