Anna Dasha Novotny (February 27, 2000) is an American singer-songwriter. In April 2020, Dasha's "Don't Mean a Thing" was released on Famouz Records. Quadio Records, a division of Disruptor Records, signed her later that year. Quadio Records' 2021 extended play $hiny Things featured "Don't Mean a Thing" with "None of My Business," "$hiny Things," and "21st Birthday," the following singles.
Between 2021 and 2022, Dasha dropped a series of tracks that would be featured on her Dirty Blonde debut album, which was released in 2023. With the release of her country-influenced track "Austin" on November 17, 2023, Dasha made her Billboard chart debut; the following June of the same year, her record peaked at number 20 on the Hot 100.
Additionally, the song was popular worldwide, reaching high positions on the charts of several countries like the UK, Ireland, Norway, the Netherlands, and Belgium (Flanders). Warner Records signed her the same month. What Happens Now?, her second studio album, came out in February 2024. At the 2024 CMT Awards in Austin, Texas, she gave a live performance of "Austin" on April 7, 2024.
