Dangerous Toys is a rock band based in Austin, Texas that was founded in 1987. The music of the group is defined as hard rock, glam metal, southern rock, and southern metal. The current lineup of the group is Jason McMaster - lead vocals, bass guitar; Paul Lidel - rhythm guitar; Scott Dalhover - lead guitar; Mike Watson - bass guitar; and Mark Geary – drums. Some of the former members are Tim Trembly - lead guitar, Danny Aaron - lead guitar, Kevin Fowler - lead guitar, and Michael Hannon - bass guitar.
In 1988, Dangerous Toys was signed to Columbia Records and released its debut album. The album was produced by Max Norman (Megadeth, Ozzy Osbourne), with Scott Dalhover playing all the guitar tracks. In 1989, the band released a self-titled album that peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and earned a gold certification by the RIAA. Not only this, but the singles included in the album; "Teas'n Pleas'n" and "Scared" enjoyed heavy rotation on MTV's Headbangers Ball.
Dangerous Toys toured worldwide in support of this album and performed with many acts, including Faster Pussycat, The Almighty, Bonham, The Cult, L.A. Guns, Stryper, and Junkyard. Some of the other notable albums by the band are Hellacious Acres 1991, Pissed 1994, and The R*tist 4*merly Known as Dangerous Toys 1995. The only live album by the group is Vitamins and Crash Helmets Tour - Greatest Hits Live (1999), and the only compilation album is The Ultimate Dangerous Toys - Sleaze Metal Kings from Texas (2004).
