Craig Finn Information
Craig Finn (August 22, 1971) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He was born in Boston and raised in Edina, Minnesota. After beginning it at Valley View Middle School, Finn finished his education at Breck School. He graduated from Boston College with a bachelor's degree in 1993. Finn worked as a financial broker with American Express Financial Advisors in Minneapolis before relocating to New York in 2000.
Finn found a position at Digital Club Network, a startup that broadcasts live music online, after relocating to New York City, where he now resides. Before forming The Hold Steady, Finn had gone two years without making any music. Finn and his partner, who he started seeing in 2006, have a home in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Clear Heart Full Eyes, Finn's debut solo album, was released on Vagrant Records on January 24, 2012. The album was recorded in Austin, Texas. 2015 saw the release of the artist's second solo effort, Faith in the Future. Newmyer's Roof, an EP by Craig Finn, was published after Faith in the Future. It included the song "Newmyer's Roof" and five other tracks that did not appear on Faith in the Future.
The EP was initially available for pre-order download in June 2015 through PledgeMusic and then officially released on March 4, 2016 through Partisan Records. Single "Preludes" from Finn's next album, We All Want the Same Things, was published in December 2016 via Partisan Records. The album was released under the same name on March 24, 2017. With the release of "Blankets" on January 30, 2019, Partisan Records announced that Finn's fourth album, I Need A New War, would be released on April 26, 2019.
