Born on May 20 in the year 1968, Clarence Greenwood is a producer, songwriter, and performer based in America. He is more popularly known by his stage name Citizen Cope and plays songs belonging to the blues, soul, folk, and rock genre. His record label Rainwater recordings were founded in 2010 and are the label that he currently records songs. The compositions by Clarence were recorded by Dido, Richie Havens, Carlos Santana, and Pharoahe Monch. Several musicians have recorded the music created by Greenwood. In the year 2002, Carlos Santana had recorded Citizen Cope’s song “Sideways” for an upcoming album named Shaman.
“Burnin Love” is another song written by Citizen Cope that was recorded in the year 2008 along with dido. Richie Havens released his version of the song “hurricane waters” along with Cope in the same year. In the year 2006, his self-produced song Every Waking moment had achieved the 69th position the Billboard top 200 charts. After opening his recording label, it gave Cope the freedom to produce songs much more freely. Cope’s song “Let the drummer kick” from his album “Citizen Cope” was able to reach R.I.A.A gold disc status. In 2018, Cope announced the release of his first album in the last six years named “Heroin and Helicopters.”
