CBDB Information
CBDB is an American progressive rock band founded in 2011 and originated from Tuscaloosa, AL. The group’s music is defined as jam rock and progressive rock. The band was created by Kris Gottlieb (lead guitar), Cy Simonton (vocals, guitar), and Glenn Dillard (saxophone, keyboards). Later, Blake Gallant (bass) joined the trio in 2008 and Chris Potocik (drums) in 2020.
CBDB released its debut album in November 2012 entitled “phone.keys.wallet.” The album was a success as it included some hook-heavy songs like “Caroline,” “Slow Foxes,” and “How Long.” Joyfunk Is Dead was the second album by the band, released on February 24, 2015. Out of Line is the third and so far the latest studio album by the band in 2015.
CBDB released an EP entitled The Fame in 2015. Some of the notable singles by the band are “She’s Mobile” (2016), “Old Dog” (2016), “Unintentional Liar” (2018), “Opelika Yella” (2018), and “Back in Limbo” (2020). The group is renowned for building a strong presence through steady touring. The band members headlined many shows in venues such as Zydeco, Bourbon Street, the Georgia Theatre, Druid City Music Hall, Terminal West, and Proud Larry’s.
CBDB has shared the stage with some well-known acts such as The Wailers, The Revivalists, Col. Bruce Hampton (Ret.), Umphreys McGee, Blues Traveler, and Perpetual Groove. The group has performed in various popular festivals such as Okeechobee Music Festival, Backwoods Music Festival, Hulaween, Euphoria Music Festival, and Summercamp Music Festival.
