Robin Daniel Skinner (December 15, 1998) is an English singer-songwriter, YouTuber, and record producer. Skinner is from Oxford, England. He is officially known as Cavetown who is well recognized for blending elements of indie rock, bedroom pop, indie pop, along with mellow, gentle ukulele ballads. He developed his interest in music due to his father, David Skinner, a well-known choir director and musicologist. Skinner went to Parkside Community College (2010-2015) and later attended Hills Road Sixth Form College (2015-2017).
Skinner started his YouTube journey in November 2012. By the time he entered November 2021, Skinner had successfully amassed 6+ million monthly streamers on Spotify. Right now, he has around 1.79 million subscribers and 270 million video views on his YouTube channel. His first song on his channel was named "Haunted Lullaby," which he uploaded in October 2013. The very first song recorded and written by Skinner was entitled "Rain" in 2013.
Everything Is Made of Clouds is the first-ever album by Cavetown that came out in 2013. The album was uploaded on Bandcamp when Skinner was only 14. His first album was followed by a series of releases, including Nervous Friends // Pt. 1, Balance (as a brother), Gd Vibes, and Everything is Made of Stars on Bandcamp. His other notable discography includes Cavetown in 2015, Lemon Boy in 2018, and Sleepyhead in 2020. He also released two EPs named Dear. 2018 and Man's Best Friend 2021.
