Carlos Rivera (March 15, 1986) is a singer from Mexico. His complete name is Carlos Rivera Guerra. He was born in Huamantla, Tlaxcala. He became a local celebrity in his hometown due to his talent. Rivera won many singing competitions and also hosted a radio show on Radio Huamantla. He was trying hard to get a breakthrough in his singing career, and after so many trials, Rivera eventually made into the reality singing competition “La Academia.” TV Azteca produced this competition.
Rivera signed to Sony Music in 2005. Right after, he began working on his self-titled album. In the same year, Rivera recorded a song for the feature film “Mar De Suenos” called “Y Si Tu Supieras.” On the annual Mexican Award ceremony called “Diosas de Plata” in 2006, the song was nominated for “Best Original Song.” The Mexican Film Journalism Association hosted the award ceremony. Rivera worked at a theatre while working on his album.
Rivera starred in the musical called “Besame Mucho” in 2006. The very next year, he performed in “Orgasmos La Comedia.” At the age of 22, in the year 2008, he became the youngest actor in the world to play the male lead actor in “Beauty and the Beast” produced by Disney. It was Disney’s first primary Broadway-like production in Mexico.
Rivera also starred in Mamma Mia! in 2009. That was his fourth theatre production. For this project, he got nominated for the Best Co-Actor of the Year by the Association of Journalists Theatre. He has performed for the role of Simba due to which, he became the first Mexican actor to star in a Disney production outside Mexico.
