Brandon Niederauer is an American guitarist, also known as Taz, from Dix Hills, Long Island. Niederauer’s music is defined as blues, soul, rock and roll, blues rock, and R&B. He starred on Broadway at a young age in School of Rock the Musical. Before turning 15, Niederauer had played guitar with Gregg Allman, Warren Haynes, Stevie Nicks, Derek Trucks, Lady Gaga, Buddy Guy, and a few others.
Niederauer garnered attention after a tweet of him playing the National Anthem on his guitar in 2018 was posted. The next year, he performed the National Anthem on guitar before a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field. After this, Niederauer continued playing for large crowds and special events.
In regards to his acting career, Niederauer played the role of Zack in School of Rock the Musical on Broadway in 2015 and the role of Virgil in Spike Lee’s Netflix series, She’s Gotta Have It in 2019. D’Angelico Guitars has released a signature guitar named the Brandon “Taz” Niederauer Atlantic guitar.
