Boys Like Girls is an American rock band. The current lineup consists of Martin Johnson, Gregory James, John Keefe, and Jamel Hawke. In the latter months of 2005, the band came together in the Boston suburb of Andover, Massachusetts, when lead singer Martin Johnson, formerly of the Boston outfit Fake ID/The Drive, created a few songs he wanted to record. Their self-titled debut album dropped on August 22, 2006. The album has sold over 580,000 copies in the US since August 2008.
Australia's capital cities of Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane all played host to a tour in April 2020, as was announced in November 2019. The group would be honored by having their entire debut album performed live. American rock band The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus were announced as tourmates in January 2020, with a later addition of a Melbourne show.
They also debuted a new song called "The Outside" and revealed that their next album would be in 2023. The band released the lead song "Blood and Sugar" for their upcoming fourth studio album on May 19, 2023. The album was expected to drop in the fall of the same year.
