Benise Information
Roni Benisek (January 10, 1965) is an American guitarist. He is professionally known as Benise. He was born in Grand Island, Nebraska. He started performing in local theaters and flea markets while busking. His popularity skyrocketed after these shows. A combination of Latin rhythms and a circus setting was Benise's idea for a performance. His 2006–2007 Nights of Fire! Production, which received an Emmy and was shown on numerous PBS-affiliated stations, resulted from the combination that attracted the Public Broadcasting Service's (PBS) attention.
Despite his parents' expectations that he would take over the family business, he had other plans—he wanted to be a rock star. He relocated to Southern California in 1999 due to dissatisfaction with his home's isolated setting. He spent his days cleaning pools and his nights playing guitar in rock bands. The San Francisco Chronicle's Chuy Varela interviewed Benise, who said that "all the greats"—including Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and others—impacted his music.
Nights of Fire!, Benise's production televised on PBS countrywide, is the result of her early success in providing entertainment with a Latin feel. Santa Barbara, California's Arlington Theatre, which features Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, served as the taping site. His self-produced performances, Viva Spanish Nights, were the seed from which Nights of Fire! grew. The concert featured acrobats, samba dancers, and African drummers and packed theaters with 2,000 seats.
