Bastille is a British band known for its anthemic pop-rock sound and introspective lyrics. Lead singer Dan Smith founded the band in 2010 and became famous around the world with their 2013 hit single, 'Pompeii,' which topped charts worldwide. Bad Blood was a commercial success; consequently, they built a cult following and critical acclaim. Bastille's music is a pop, rock, and electronic hybrid with an original, definitely modern sound.
In 2023, Bastille kept up with their music and performed live. Looking at themes of technology, escapism, and human connection in a digital age, their latest album, Give Me the Future (2022), reflects on how we attempt to use technology to escape from life as it is happening to reinvent ourselves and our futures. The futuristic sound of tracks like "Distorted Light Beam, and 'No Bad Days' struck a chord with fans. One of their strengths is their ability to take on complex themes while remaining catchy and radio-friendly.
In 2023, Bastille toured the mainland UK on the Build a Better Manchester Tour and New Memories Tour extension and embarked on a headlining tour known as 'Other People's Hearts.' Fans know their live performances are full of energy, there is lots of crowd interaction, and you sing along to hits like 'Good Grief' and 'Happier.'
