Kenneth Brian Edmonds is an American record producer, singer, and songwriter. He is professionally known as Babyface. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Eight covers and two originals make up his album Playlist. The product hit shelves on September 18, 2007. The album marked the revival of the Mercury Records label and served as its inaugural release. His Grammy-winning duet album with Toni Braxton, titled Love, Marriage & Divorce, was released on Motown Records on February 4, 2014.
At the sixth annual BMI Urban Awards, held on August 30, 2006, Babyface was named a BMI Icon. On October 10, 2013, Babyface was awarded the 2,508th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Indiana University Bloomington awarded him an honorary doctorate on October 18, 2018, for his outstanding contributions to the field of music.
Babyface started dating Nicole "Nikki" Pantenburg, a backup dancer who had previously worked with Janet Jackson and was a personal friend of Jackson's, in 2007. Peyton, the daughter of Babyface and Pantenburg, was born in 2008. On May 17th, 2014, the couple tied the knot. After seven years of marriage, they finally decided to call it quits in July of 2021.
