Anthony Gomes (May 14, 1970) is a Canadian blues and blues-rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Toronto, Ontario. His music is defined as Southern rock, blues rock, and blues. Anthony Gomes was born to a French-Canadian mother and a Portuguese father. He made his debut in 1998 by releasing an album entitled Blues in Technicolor. Gomes started his US and Canada tour soon after to promote his first album. Currently, he resides in St. Louis, Missouri, and plays a fusion of blues with rock and soul.
Anthony Gomes founded a band named Anthony Gomes Band. The group has toured North America and Europe. Since he started, Gomes has worked with a few record labels, including Urban Electric Record, 33rd Street Records, Up 2 Zero Entertainment, Adrenaline Records/ADA, and Ruf Records.
Anthony Gomes has released eight studio albums in total include 2000: Sweet Stringin' Soul, 2002: Unity, 2006: Long Way Home, 2006: Music Is The Medicine, 2008: Primary Colors, 2009: New Soul Cowboys, 2012: Up 2 Zero, 2014: Rebel Blue (compilation), 2015: Electric Field Holler, and finally 2018: Peace, Love & Loud Guitars. Anthony Gomes has also won two awards thus far; Buddy Guy's Legends "Best Unsigned Blues Band" in 1998 and BluesWax Artist of the Year in 2003.
