Acoustic Alchemy Information
Acoustic Alchemy is a smooth jazz band that was founded in 1981 and originated from London. The group plays jazz, smooth jazz, and new age music. Nick Webb and Simon James founded the band, and their current lineup consists of Greg Carmichael, Miles Gilderdale, Greg Grainger, Julian Crampton, Gary Grainger, Anthony "Fred" White, and Eddie M. Some of the past members include Dennis Murphy, Terry Disley, Nick Webb, and John Parsons.
Red Dust and Spanish Lace was the first album by Acoustic Alchemy released in 1987, one of the first few albums recorded at Hansa Haus Studios in Bonn, Germany. The band's first album was followed by two more albums entitled Natural Elements (1988) and Blue Chip (1989). The title track of the album Natural Elements was selected as the theme song for the BBC TV program Gardeners' World.
Some other notable studio albums by the band are Blue Chip 1989, Reference Point 1990, Back on the Case 1991, Early Alchemy 1992, The New Edge 1993, Against the Grain 1994, Positive Thinking... 1998, The Beautiful Game 2000, Sounds of St. Lucia: Live 2003, Radio Contact 2003, American/English 2005, The Very Best of Acoustic Alchemy Vol. 2 2008, and Live in London 2014.
