The Cher Show Information
Based on a script by Rick Elice, the jukebox musical The Cher Show chronicles the singer's life and career through performances of her most famous songs. Three actresses have played Cher: one in the '50s and '60s (called "Babe"), one in the '70s (called "Lady"), and one in the '80s and '90s (called "Star"). The three have conversations and offer assistance to one another throughout the story.
Opening on Broadway in December 2018, the musical had a Lab in New York City in the fall of 2017. The world premiere was held on June 12, 2018, at Chicago's Oriental Theatre. Release dates for the Original Cast Album CD version were April 10 and 12, respectively. On August 18, 2019, the final performance of The Cher Show took place on Broadway. In April 2022, a revised performance debuted at the Leicester Curve before touring the United Kingdom.
