Legally Blonde is a musical that is based on the book by Heather Hach. The music and lyrics are by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin. The story of the musical is based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown, along with the film of the same name that came out in 2001. The musical follows Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win her ex-boyfriend, Warner, back.
Legally Blonde premiered on January 23, 2007, in pre-Broadway tryouts, San Francisco, California. In April of the same year, the musical moved to Broadway, directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell. The original cast of the show starred Christian Borle as Emmett, Laura Bell Bundy as Elle, and Richard H. Blake as Warner.
Legally Blonde was recorded in September 2007 and aired in October 2007 on MTV. It was followed by a reality television program that was aired, showing the audition process for the next person who was to play Elle Woods on Broadway. Bailey Hanker was the winner. She played the role from July 23, 2008, until the production closed on October 19.

Act II songs include "Find My Way/Finale, "Scene of the Crime," "Legally Blonde Remix," "There! Right There!" and many more. Legally Blonde won three Laurence Olivier Awards in 2011, three Touring Broadway Awards in 2009, one Actors’ Equity Association, and several notifications.
